Outreach
St. Michael’s supports a variety of outreach ministries, both in our community and in the world.
Community Outreach
St. Michael’s receives money for our Outreach efforts from Kroger Community Rewards. The church receives an amount based on total purchases from people who have signed up to support St. Michael’s. Visit the Kroger Community Rewards page for more details. If you’re uncertain if you are enrolled in this program, check the bottom of your Kroger receipt; if you are enrolled, it will say “At your request, Kroger is donating to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.”
St. Michael’s provides monetary and volunteer support to numerous community organizations in the area. Those include some of the non-profit agencies listed below:
Northeast Elementary School
St. Michael’s provides backpacks for children and families in need of food support over weekends and holidays. We also support the school through donations of school supplies, clothing closet requests, and other needs. Families are identified by teaching staff for support during Thanksgiving and Christmas, with St. Michael’s donations supporting food boxes and Angel Tree gifts for families.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands of Putnam County assists residents of the community and transients who are in emergency situations and in need of food, rent, transportation, medical support, and other short term/emergency needs.
Genesis House
Genesis House provides support to victims of domestic and sexual violence by providing shelter, goods and services while helping them find safety and self-sufficiency.

Community Outreach
Saint Michael’s Church supports two international ministries.
Our sister church, Mission of Jesus Obrero
Each week , we pray for our sister church, Mission of Jesus Obrero in Duran, Ecuador. This church provides support for the church members and for the surrounding community at large. The church provides support, food, and medical assistance to families in the area. Recently, they opened a car wash to expand their church, outreach and community support.
Child Reach Africa
St. Michael’s provides support to Child Reach Africa in Uganda. ChildReach seeks to help rural disadvantaged children by giving them educational support, skills for becoming self-sufficient, medical support, scholarships, and other support. St. Michael’s hosts an annual Christmas craft sale and other fund raiser events to support specific areas of need for this ministry.
Community Support
St. Michael’s provides support and meeting space for a variety of community organizations.
Community Recovery Groups
A variety of support groups offered through both A.A. and N.A. meet at St. Michael’s church throughout the week. These groups are coordinated through the support group community in Cookeville.
